TIMELAPSES

The time-lapses below are just a handful of examples of where BC has seen some of the most noticeable changes over the past few decades. Using the Google time-lapse engine only allows us a view since 1984; you'll notice much of the forest removed in these examples is already second or even third-growth forests. You'll also see the fire damage in the later years as these areas have less and less forest coverage. These are by no means the only examples.

Unlikely Allies recognizes that land in B.C. is unceded and subject to Aboriginal title and rights. Land use decisions cannot occur on First Nations territory without free, prior and informed consent.

We acknowledge the First Nations on whose traditional lands we work and live. The majority of our efforts are carried out from the unceded lands of the Wyomilth (Esquimalt) and Lkwungen (Songhees), Scia’new (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke (Sooke) Nations, and the W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) First Nations, whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
